Star card for Jamie

Last year we had a very special visitor. My sister's younger daughter is married to an American and lives in Delaware. They have two children and it's been several years since they were all able to come to England for a holiday, but last summer their son Jamie visited his grandparents to explore his English roots. He and my sister came to stay with us for a few days so he could see another part of the country and also receive his first taste of English country dancing! He is a very talented ballet dancer (sadly he's now given up dancing because of increased academic work) and enjoyed himself very much - he was a huge success at the dance club, having reduced the average age considerably, and impressed everyone with his ability and good humour.

Shortly after Jamie returned home he celebrated his 16th birthday for which I made a star card. The colour scheme (naturally!) was red, white and blue with embossed Cuttlebug stars on the covers and striped ribbon holding it all together, plus a Nesties medallion with his age in peel off numbers. The pictures inside were of places he had visited (taken from a pocket guide to England which I found in a bargain bookshop) and the final page had rubber stamped images of folk dancers, musical notes and piano accordian. I was very pleased with it and judging by the enthusiastic email we received, so was Jamie.
